April is an artist, wife, and mom from Pennsylvania — who also happens to be a real-life Rapunzel, her long blonde hair cascading all the way to the floor.

At what age did you decide to start growing your hair to the floor?
I have kept it long for most of my life. I never really set a goal length for myself, I just try to take good care. I made it to floor length in spring of 2021, I think.

Do you remember the day when you reached your goal of floor-length? How did it feel to achieve that amazing dream?
No, I don't remember the day. It happens a little at a time, and wet versus dry, or wavy versus straight, or even posture will affect how long it looks at a particular time. For awhile, there would be a couple inches touching the bathtub when wet, but it wouldn't look like it was at floor length when dry.

Are there any day-to-day challenges that come with having floor-length hair?
Yes, I keep it in braids for 4 or 5 days at a time now because brushing, washing and re-braiding takes so long now. My braids get messy looking, and I have to go places like that when there's not enough time to redo them.

Do you have advice for aspiring women and girls who desire to grow their hair?
Enjoy where your hair is at right now. Just take good care, and try to prevent breakage.

How do you feel about the upcoming long hair competition in Las Vegas?
I am very much looking forward to it! I think it will be great getting to meet everyone. Also, I think it will be nice to get some recognition after all the hard work that goes into haircare.
