How did you start the Pop Cakery?
Started off when someone asked me to make a fun custom dessert for their Friday night Frozen themed dinner at their chabad house. I decided to make Olaf cake pops and they were so fun to make and came out so adorable that I decided to go into business selling them.

What goes into making a cake pop?
I use a baked and cooled cake and I mix in frosting to form a dough. Then the cake is rolled into balls and other shapes and dipped into chocolate. Once the chocolate dries, I can add swirls, embellishments and other designs.

Do kids ever mistake a cake pop for a lollipop and end up surprised?
I have not seen that happen. But when it comes to surprise, I have received feedback from first-time tasters who presumed that the cake pops would be airy and puffy, and found them rich, dense and fudgy! That's how cake pops should be.

What kind of cookies do you do?
Custom cookies with royal icing and hand done designs is our most requested. I think it's because there is such a personal touch with those orders. They give me the theme, colors, designs and any photos that have ideas that should be included and I get to work creating something unique and special. Some aspects make our shop more appealing: We are certified kosher, 100% pareve and we ship nationwide and Canada. And lastly, we take great pride in good customer service. Each order is given the fullest attention so when the customer receives their box, they are very very happy!

What is the most challenging aspect of designing a cake pop or cookie treat?
Designing characters is often challenging and requires patience, but the finished product is always very rewarding!
