Yes, you heard right — eco friendly activewear! Micky Kometsopa is a true visionary who not only has launched the most comfortable yoga and exercise apparel brand around, but a brand that is 100% eco-friendly. Presenting an exclusive interview with the company's founder from Bangkok, Thailand.
What inspired you to start this unique yoga and activewear brand?
I started Flexi Lexi Fitness 8 years ago when I was pregnant with my first son. That's when I started doing pre-natal yoga. I personally love fun, bright and happy designs and of course the best quality of clothing. I found that the activewear products in the market both in Thailand and international markets do not offer premium and fun designs and the flexibility of the fabric that I was looking for. So I thought of creating my own brand. We first started with the colourful bralettes and then the really fun designs of the leggings such as the Flamingo Flexi Pants, Pineapple and Watermelon Flexi Pants. And then came more ideas like Mermaid, Mer-Cat, Unicorn and all other fruity designs.
Does Flexi Lexi activewear increase flexibility while doing yoga and exercising?
Definitely. We use the best fabric in the activewear market worldwide. That means we use the fabric with the most spandex so it's flexible and also shaping. The fabric is lightweight, quick-dry and feels super comfortable on your skin. We also use eco-friendly fabric and it's also coated with UPF50+ so it protects you from the damage of the sun.
It's amazing that not only is the apparel made from eco-friendly materials, but even the packages they come in! Would you please share with us your background in environmentalism, and how you came to be so passionate about it?
I don't have any background in environmentalism at all actually but I do care about our earth and how to keep it clean and sustainable. So for long I had been seeking the recycled fabric that was of the same quality as our original synthetic fabric that we used. We searched for 2 years and finally we found the best recycled fabric for our products. And then came the recycled paper tags and then the corn bags for packaging that are decomposable. People are more aware of consuming and buying products that are eco-friendly and promote sustainability. That's a great thing. And we are proud of not only producing the most premium and fun yoga and activewear for adults and kids but also helping to sustain our environments at the same time. The more people who care about helping our earth, the better!
What is the most inspirational feedback you've received from a Flexi Lexi customer?
Mostly people buy our products and come back for more! We have a pretty high customer return rate and that's because they love our products. I would say the best feedback would be that they love our unique designs, the quality of the products that they can wear for years and years and they still look like new. And another really heart-warming feedback that always makes my day is that our customer service is super tip top and we really do genuinely care about delivering our premium products on time.
